Infection prevention and control updates

Outbreak Management – Visitor Information

To protect our residents and staff during periods of increased illness or an outbreak, we ask all visitors to follow our infection prevention protocols.

Feeling Unwell?

If you arrive with any cold, flu, or respiratory symptoms, you will be asked to undertake a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before entering the facility.

During an Outbreak

If an outbreak is declared within the facility:

  • All visitors must wear the required PPE, including a high-protection face mask (D95 or similar) and eye protection, as directed by staff.
  • Visits must occur in the resident’s room or garden areas, as approved and supported by staff.
  • Social distancing must be always maintained.
  • Visitors must keep their face mask on for the entire visit. If a mask is removed, the visit may be ended immediately.

Please note: Even a minor breach of infection control can put lives at risk.

If You Test Positive Onsite

Occasionally, a positive result may occur even without symptoms. If you test positive during screening:

  • Our staff will provide support and guidance.

Staying Connected

If you’re unable to visit in person, video and phone calls are available. Please contact Amber/ Sandy, Lifestyle Coordinators, to book a call.

For any questions or concerns, please call us on 08 8465 5500.

Change to Aged Care Quality Standards - November 2025

From 1 November 2025, under the new Aged Care Act, a new set of Strengthened Quality Standards will guide the delivery of aged care services across Australia. These updated standards have been developed to improve accountability, consistency, and the overall quality of care provided to older people.

The Strengthened Quality Standards clearly define what high-quality aged care should look like. They are clearer, more measurable, and focused on ensuring that older people receive safe, respectful, and person-centred care. The aim is not about ticking boxes, it’s about delivering genuine care that supports each person’s dignity, choices, and wellbeing, while promoting continuous improvement within the aged care sector. The graphic below shows you which part of your care each standard relates to, or you can see the list below.

1: The individual

2: The organisation

3: The care and services

4: The environment

5: Clinical care

6: Food and nutrition

7: The older residential community
